Sourcing H.E.A.V.E.N.!

OMG – I’ve found a “salvage yard” of sorts here in Lombok and when I went to visit I was in H.E.A.V.E.N.!

This is one of my favourite parts of being a designer – looking for and finding unusual objects, furniture, decor, any stuff that’s not the standard off the shelf wholesale product.

Partly because I personally LOVE taking my beady eye to a new place and scouting – truly my jheart rate went sky high with excitement.

Partly because this type of “one of stuff” can make a standard design into something really unique and bespoke for the client.

When I refurbished Urban Tandoor in Bristol, I found some amazing wooden panels that had been taken from a merchants house in Japur in around 1830 one of my favourite finds ever : ))

Of course the majority of items are pretty crummy junk most of the time but you never know what you’re going to find hidden away – one man’s junk is another man’s treasure as they say…

So feast your eyes on this trawl – let me know in the comments if anything take your fancy?

I’ve got my eye on a few bits for a current project…
